Israel's Cabinet Approves Deal for Captives' Release as American Military Personnel to 'Oversee' Ceasefire

Israel's administration has formally endorsed a comprehensive truce deal that includes the return of all unreleased captives held by Hamas in Gaza, marking a crucial step toward concluding the damaging two-year conflict.

American Military Role in Supervising the Agreement

Top representatives in the White House have announced that a American armed forces team of about 200 personnel will be sent to the territory to "monitor" the ceasefire after both Israel and Hamas acceded to the initial phase of the Trump administration's ceasefire initiative.

As per an Israeli representative, the ceasefire should commence right away following administration endorsement. The Israel's defense forces was given 24 hours to withdraw its troops to an agreed-upon boundary.
