Iranian Forces State Attack on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amid Widespread Military Operations.
Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a significant and continuing offensive against it by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area near the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any damage is uncertain and the American officials has yet to issue a statement.
Missile Defenses Activated
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - said they have intercepted missiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That preceding assault - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted sites linked to the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the leadership.
Regional Fallout
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses engaged the missiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a number of missiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported wreckage landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and fatalities.
The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
