Devoted followers of Ariana Grande are urging that a person who breached a barrier and touched the actress during Thursday's Wicked: For Good debut be taken into custody or removed from Singapore.

A circulating clip shows the individual from Australia bypassing photographers and lunging at Grande while the actors walked down a yellow carpet flanked by fans.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo promptly guided the shocked actress away from Mr Wen, who was seen being led away of the premiere by guards.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "let go after being taken in", though official papers indicated that he was scheduled to appear on the next day. It is not clear if he was faced legal action.

History of Incidents

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Controversial Figure", has crashed a performance. His Instagram account contains recordings of him interrupting other high-profile occasions, including breaching the performance area at the artist's Sydney concert in recently and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers concert in the area last year.

"Measures must be taken taken against him as this is obviously a legal violation," wrote an Instagram user, in a message to a video Mr Wen posted of his actions.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" a different Instagram user questioned.

Followers Show Disapproval Over Grande's Past Trauma

Numerous fans accused Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had revealed experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder after a terrorist explosion at the end of her May 2017 concert in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and injuring many.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" said a further response on Instagram.

Several attendees also criticised security officers at the premiere for not being sufficiently alert; while others requested digital services to remove Mr Wen's uploads.

Response and Event Details

In footage shared widely, Grande looked shocked when she was touched by the man. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen consoling her while Mr Wen was escorted away by guards.

Grande has not commented on the incident, and the remaining proceedings carried on uninterrupted.

Hundreds of Singapore supporters had waited to see the performers of Wicked

Many of fans had gathered in a mass of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific debut in a Singapore mall, including some who had queued for as long as eight hours before it started.

The film, to be launched on November 21, is the follow-up of a dual adaptation of the acclaimed Broadway and West End musical Wicked, which focuses on the unlikely relationship between two contrasting sorceresses.

The production itself is a adaptation of the 1900 children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the good witch Glinda, was dressed in a light pink sequin dress at the premiere while Erivo, who portrays the Elphaba, wore a sleek black dress featuring roses.

They were accompanied by cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the most successful motion picture of the previous year in the UK, and earned a dozen Oscar nominations, winning a pair for best costume and production design.
